CPS drain covers come in 3 types: reinforced concrete covers, anti-rust painted steel covers and galvanized steel covers. Choose a 2-tonne model for footpaths and pedestrian areas or a 20-tonne model for vehicle traffic. Covers are made to the channel width and can be bought with the channel. Install a concrete wheel stopper in 3 steps: (1) mark the position and drill holes in the floor to the layout for each size, using a drill bit of 20 mm or larger; (2) fill the holes with cement adhesive and insert 12 mm DB deformed bars; (3) place the wheel stopper over the bars, fill the top holes with cement adhesive and finish the surface. 1. Prepare the ground: excavate about 10–15 cm and remove all debris and grass.
2. Level the area evenly and compact it firmly with a plate compactor to prevent settlement after use.
3. Place the edging — curb stones, decorative edging or buried edging — around the area to define it and stop the blocks spreading.
4. Spread coarse sand to about 3–4 cm thick after compaction and compact the whole area.
5. Lay the blocks starting from one corner (or the centre for circular patterns), checking alignment every 10–15 m².
6. When the area is fully laid, sweep fine sand into the joints and compact again.
